The chaos worsened as Zanu PF supporters increasingly disrupted the meeting while MDC-T members fought for the security of their leader. In the end Mr. Tsvangirai had to end his visit prematurely. The province recorded incidents of harassment mainly from Zanu PF party activists who allegedly went around different wards forcing people to join their party. The cases of harassment recorded in the province emanated from political intolerance at intra and inter-party levels. Ø 9 February 2015 - A Zanu PF ward activist Richard Muzembe of Binga South constituency, Kabuba ward threatened to influence the local authority to fire the District Development Fund (DDF) Base Supervisor for working with an MDC-T Councillor of the area. The Councillor had organised and procured fuel for the District Development Fund (DDF) tractor and lobbied the DDF authority to come and repair a damaged bridge. That arrangement necessitated the Councillor to work closely with the DDF Supervisor and that infuriated Muzembe who does not want any government department to work with MDC-T Councillors. However he is reportedly meeting with resistance from the people in the area. Ø 22 February 2015 - Zanu PF ward official John Moyo of Bubi constituency, ward 18 threatened two female Zanu PF members with unspecified action for working for a top MDC-T official. Moyo accused the two women of being sell-outs as they were known Zanu PF card carrying members and yet they chose to work for the MDC-T official. 15
