He tried to run away but was caught and taken to a ‘war veterans’ base. He was detained overnight and beaten up with logs and kicked with booted feet. He was also forced to lie on the ground whilst being hit across the buttocks. Medical assessment SRQ-8 Score: 4 On clinical examination 7 weeks after the event, the patient still had a deep myoscitic abscess of his right buttock, 5cm in diameter and about 3cm deep. This took a further 2 months to heal, and the patient was markedly psychologically disturbed and had difficulty in relating the incident, without becoming agitated.
