Summary: Amnesty International welcomes the initiative by the United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur on adequate housing as a component of the right to an adequate standard of living, and on the right to non discrimination in this context to prepare guidance for states on designing and implementing effective human rights-based housing strategies to realize the right to housing and to fulfil commitments made under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the New Urban Agenda.
