(b) in subsection (2) by the deletion of “Part III of the Natural Resources Act [Chapter 20:13]” and the substitution of “Part IX of the Environmental Management Act [Chapter 20:27]”; (c) by the repeal of subsections (3) and (4) and the substitution of— “(3) If the Minister considers that such a course is necessary or expedient for the conservation or protection of the natural resources within the area of a rural district council, he may⎯ (a) authorise the council to prepare a plan, dealing with such matters as may be prescribed, for the prevention of fires within that area; and (b) after consultation with the Secretary as defined in section 2 of the Environmental Management Act [Chapter 20:27], authorise that Secretary to give written orders to the owners, occupiers or users of any land within that area to act in accordance with the plan prepared in terms of paragraph (a). (4) Any order given under an authority granted in terms of subsection (3) shall be deemed to be an order given in terms of section 68 of the Environmental Management Act [Chapter 20:27].”. PART IV AGRICULTURAL LAND SETTLEMENT ACT [Chapter 20:01] In section 14 in subsection (1) by the deletion from paragraph (b) of “a conservation committee appointed in terms of the Natural Resources Act [Chapter 20:13], or”. PART V COMMUNAL LAND ACT [Chapter 20:04] In section 10 in subsection (1) by the deletion from paragraph (b) of “Natural Resources Board established in terms of the Natural Resources Act [Chapter 20:13]” and the substitution of “Secretary as defined in section 2 of the Environmental Management Act [Chapter 20:27]”. PART VI PARKS AND WILD LIFE ACT [Chapter 20:14] 1. In section 2⎯ (a) by the repeal of the definition of “conservation committee”; (b) by the insertion of the following definition— ““environment committee” means an environment committee appointed in terms of section 61 of the Rural District Councils Act [Chapter 29:13];”. 2. In section 77— (a) in subsection (1)⎯ (i) by the deletion of “Natural Resources Board and the conservation” and the substitution of “Environment Board established by section 19 of the Environmental Management Act [Chapter 20:27] and the environment”; (ii) in paragraphs (a), (b), (c) and (d) by the deletion of “a conservation committee” and “the conservation committee” wherever they occur and the substitution of “an environment committee” and “the environment committee” respectively; 74
