The Lancaster House Agreement was a political consensus which brought the independence of Zimbabwe from Rhodesian rule. The agreement came into being after a series of negotiations between the nationalist parties and the Rhodesian Front between September and December 1979. The Agreement was facilitated by the British and the American governments to bring to an end the 14 year war in Rhodesia between the Rhodesians and the guerrilla movements.

The Act consists of seven parts which are Preliminary, Commissioner of war victims compensation, Application of Act and claims for and entitlement to compensation, Compensation for Disablement, Compensation for death, Special Provisions for women and children and General. There is also the Revenue fund section.

This report analyzes the Kariba Draft Constitution,a document negotiated in secret in September 2007 and referenced in Article 6 of the Global Political Agreement between Zimbabwe’s three primary political parties. The report briefly considers the process that led to the creation of the Kariba Draft and then explores the content of that document. The substance of the Kariba Draft is compared to that of the current Constitution and the Constitutional Commission Proposal which was rejected in a national referendum in February 2000.

The Draft containes reasons why the NCA campaigned for a No Vote in the referendum of February 2000 such as the process and content. This draft seeks to address the key issues of governance in Zimbabwe and has taken into account the NCA’s major concerns about the Draft of the Constitutional Commission. Its main focus is on having an accountable government through various checks and balances.

A Child Protection Policy aimed at standardizing child protection measures both within the organisation and communities. Clear rules governing conduct as well as functioning and transparent oversight and complaint mechanisms all go towards ensuring a high degree of child protection and these are contained in this policy.

This report captures the proceedings of the Stakeholders Conference on Transitional Justice Principles in Zimbabwe which was convened by the National Transitional Justice Working Group from 23 to 24 July 2015 in Nyanga. The conference discussed and produced the Guiding Principles for Transitional Justice Policy in Practice for Zimbabwe.

This paper reviews Zimbabwe’s healing reconciliation discourse and how the process could be prosecuted. This review is also a precursor to Heal Zimbabwe’s nation-wide baseline study conducted to solicit communities’ perceptions of what constitutes healing, peace and reconciliation. The baseline study establishes options for the NPRC progress indicators design and processes upon which the Commission and Civic Society Organisations (CSOs) will track achievements.
