Report of the 2014 International Human Rights Day Commemorations - 10th December 2014 Amphitheatre, Bulawayo the European Union, the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) and the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Steering Committee, respectively. Solidarity messages highlighted the importance of the theme for the commemorations, and expressed support for the work of the Commission in discharging its mandate of protecting, promoting and enforcing fundamental human rights and freedoms in Zimbabwe. Other issues highlighted in solidarity messages included the need to protect rights of women and girls and promote gender equality, advance the rights of workers to fair labour practices, promote equal opportunities for people living with disabilities and enhance employment opportunities for young people, among others.
