New Commissioner gets down to business

of the Zimbabwe
Human
Rights
Commission Act
(Chapter 10:30)
provides that ZHRC
should have TWGs
in order to have
specialised
attention
to
promotion
and
protection
of
specific rights. The
TWGs which are
provided for in the
Act are Children’s
Rights, Civil and
Political Rights,
S o c io -E co no mi c
Rights as well as
Women’s Rights and
Gender.
The Commission
can also have any
other groups which
it deems necessary.
All the other
Commissi oners
except
for
Commissioner
Mugwadi, chair
TWGs.
TWGs consist of
members with an in-
depth knowledge in
the relevant field.
