Sihle Ncube
vs.
City of Harare
and 2 Others
HC 855/ 17
Client is a victim of negligence by
the City Council after she fell in an
uncovered and unmarked City of
Harare storm drain. As a result of
the fall she sustained numerous
fractures on her legs. With the
assistance from the Forum, she
filed a claim against the city
council claiming damages for the
pain and suffering from the
injuries she sustained. The City
Council offered to pay before the
matter could go for trial. Ms
Ncube is an indigent member of
society, who ordinarily could not
have afforded the cost of issuing
summons against the city council
to get justice for the violation she
suffered. The Forum was able to
facilitate for that. (See picture next
page of Ms. Ncube with her
judgement award)
