Amendment of section 12 of Cap. 20:12
Section 12 ("Training leading to recognition") (2) of the principal Act is amended by the
repeal of paragraph (a) and the substitution of—
"(a) in the case of a person who holds a specified local or foreign qualification, the period
prescribed by the Board in terms of paragraph (i) of subsection (1) of section nine; or".

Amendment of Cap. 27:06
The Land Surveyors Act [Chapter 27:06] is amended—
(a) in section 2 ("Interpretation") by the insertion of the following definition—
""specified local qualification" means a degree, diploma or other qualification declared
by the Minister to be a specified local qualification in terms section 18;";
(b) in section 18 ("Qualifications for registration as land surveyor-in-training")—
(i) by the repeal of subsection (1) and the substitution of—
"(1) Subject to section 19, any person holding one or more of the
following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for registration as a land
surveyor-in-training—
(a)
a specified local qualification;
(b)
a specified foreign qualification;
(c)
a specified foreign licence.";
(ii) in subsection (2) by the deletion of "paragraphs (b) and (c) of subsection (1)"
and the substitution of "subsection (1)".
