This agreement has become even more token since the decision in late 2008 by the old ZAPU guard who
had been absorbed into ZANU PF since 1987, that they were going to break away and henceforth call
themselves ZAPU again. However, this is not the focus of this discussion, and the ZAPU-ZANU power
struggle in 2008 pales into insignificance compared to the ZANU-MDC power struggle.
