29 -XGLFLDO$SSRLQWPHQWV:RUNVKRS On 30 June 2016, ZLHR collaborated with other CSOs from South Africa and carried out a capacity building session for civil society on judicial appointments. The workshop was held in Harare. The objective was to raise awareness of CSOs of the new public judicial appointment process in terms of the 2013 Constitution and to increase the capacity of participants to effectively monitor and critique the process. It was also to provide a platform for participants to reflect, share experiences with the Democratic Governance and Rights Unit based at the University of Cape Town and another organisation, Judges Matter, from South Africa and develop strategies for improved involvement in the process, using social media and other advocacy strategies. Through this workshop, awareness of civil society on the new judicial appointment process was increased.
