Section 18 amended many provisions of this Act in order to bring penalty provisions into line with the principles established by the Criminal Penalties Amendment Act, 2001 (No. 22 of 2001). The amendments have not been separately identified in this document. 2 Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23] (No. 23 of 2004) with effect from 1st July, 2006 (the "Criminal Law Code"). The Code now covers many of the offences formerly provided by this Act; section 282 of the Code makes the necessary consequential adjustments to this Act.
