Senior \linistcrs, :\linisters and Deputy \ linistcrs ")(i) by the deletion of the titk thereto and the substitution of"3 Benefits of Senior \linisters, \linisters and Deputy \linisters"; (ii) b) the deletion of "every Vice-President. Senior \linister. \ linister and Deputy \hmster" and the substitution of "every Senior\ linistcr. \ 1inister and Deputy \[inistcr"; (c) by the repeal of sectionS; (d) by the repeal of section 6 and the substitution of-· "6 Benefits for office-bearers and members of Parliament (I) Subject to this Act, the fi:>llowing persons namely-- (a) the Speaker of the :\ational Assembly; (h) the President of the (c) the Deputy Speaker of the :\ational Assembly: (d) the Deputy President ofthc Senate; (c) President of the :\ational Council of Chiefs and his or her deputy; (t) the leader of the Opposition; (g) the Government Chief\Vhip and his or her deputy; (h) the Chief Whip of the main opposition and his or her deputy; Sl~nate; (i) the Chief \Vhips of Parties in Parliament and their deputies; (j) members of the Committee on Standing Rules and Orders; (k) members of the Chairperson Panel; (l) the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Legal Committee; (m) (n) Chairpersons of Thematic and Portfolio Committt·c; every members of the Parliamentary Legal Committee; (o) every member of Parliament who is not entitled to any benefit in terms of Part II and who is not specified in paragraphs (a) to (m); shall be entitled to(i) a salary at such rate; and (ii) such allowances and other benelits; as may he detetmined hy the Conunittee on Standing Rules and Orders with the approval of the Minister responsible for Finance. Pnwided that if a person listed in pamgraphs (a) to (k) above is a \Iinister he or she shall not be entitled to a salary. allowance or benefit under this section.". (2) In addition, a person \Vho has served as the Speaker of the :'\ational Assembly or President of the Senate for at least one full tctm of office shall be entitled to(a) such allowances; and 18
