Establishment of Zimbabwe Export Processing Zone Board
The operations of the Authority shall, subject to this Act, be controlled and managed by a board
to be known as the Zimbabwe Export Processing Zones Board.

Constitution of Board
(1) The Board shall consist of—
(a) eleven members appointed by the Minister after consultation with the President and subject
to such directions as the President may give him, of whom—
(i) one shall be chosen from a list of not fewer than three names submitted by the
Board of Zimtrade; and
(ii) one shall be chosen from a list of not fewer than three names submitted by the
Board of the Zimbabwe Investment Centre; and
(iii) one shall be chosen from a list of not fewer than three names submitted by the
Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries; and
(iv) one shall be chosen from a list of not fewer than three names submitted by the
Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce; and
(v) one shall be chosen from a list of not fewer than three names submitted by the
Indigenous Business Development Centre; and
(vi) one shall be chosen from a list of not fewer than three names submitted by the
Chamber of Mines;
(vii) one shall be chosen from a list of not fewer than three names submitted by the
Minister responsible for finance; and
(viii) one shall be a representative from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce; and
(ix) one shall be chosen from a list of not fewer than three names submitted by the
Minister of Local Government, Rural and Urban Development; and
(x) two shall be appointed for their ability and experience in business;
and
(b) the general manager, who shall be an ex officio member of the Board.
(2) If any person or organization referred to in paragraph (a) of subsection (1) fails or refuses to
submit a list of nominees for appointment to the Board when required to do so by the Minister, the
Minister may appoint any person to represent that person or organization, and the person so
appointed shall hold office as a member in all respects as if he had been duly nominated and
appointed in terms of subsection (1).
(3) The Minister shall appoint one member as chairman of the Board and another member as
vice-chairman of the Board, and the vice-chairman shall exercise the functions of the chairman
during any period that the chairman is unable to exercise his functions.

Terms and conditions of office of members
(1) Subject to this Part, a member shall hold office for such period, not exceeding three years, as
the Minister may fix on his appointment.
(2) Subject to section fourteen, a member shall hold office on such conditions as the Minister
may fix in relation to members generally.
(3) A retiring member shall be eligible for re-appointment as a member.

Disqualifications for appointment as member
The Minister shall not appoint a person as a member and no person shall be qualified to hold
office as a member who—
