Women Human Rights Defenders in Zimbabwe 7 Despite the numerous challenges and disadvantages confronting women HRDs in Zimbabwe, many have not been deterred from asserting their rights and the rights of others who cannot act for themselves. More and more women are taking up the mantle, encouraged by the courageous work of other women of steel who, despite daily setbacks, pick themselves up again and again with more zeal and strength to confront the next challenge.
