The report shows findings from the study area of Masvingo pertaining to who got the land during the land reform program and whether they are utilizing it or not.

The report talks of the forceful eviction of commercial white farmers during the fast track land reform process and how it was one of the primary drivers of Zimbabwe's sudden economic downfall. The process was characterized by gross human rights violations and disregard of the rule of law.

This report traces developments that have taken place since our June report and gives an overview of the main consequences of Operation Murambatsvina since it commenced on 19 May 2005. It also locates the Operation in the context of events that have happened in Zimbabwe over several years.

The Amnesty International Report 2017/18 shines a light on the state of the world’s human rights during 2017. The foreword, five regional overviews and a survey of 159 countries and territories from all regions document the struggle of many people to claim their rights, and the failures of governments to respect, protect and fulfill human rights.

The goal of the programme is to strengthen human rights in governance and transparency. Activities involve public education; training of Human Rights Defenders (HRDs), service institutions and community leaders; legal advice provision and litigation; advocacy and lobbying.

The Specific objective of the Research unit is “to document, research on, verify and publish incidents of gross violations of human rights in Zimbabwe, particularly those associated with organized violence and torture”. There are 3 types of reports that are compiled by the unit. These include Special/ad hoc reports, the human rights bulletin and the MPVR.

This study investigates the direct and indirect economic costs of police brutality on victims in Zimbabwe, from events related to the social uprising between July and August 2016. Establishing the economic costs of police brutality provides the basis for determining requisite compensation for victims’ loss of earnings; medical and hospitalization expenses; funeral expenses and for the dependants’ loss of maintenance.

The match between citizens’ aspirations and the promises made by political parties comes to fore most strongly when elections are pending. The presumption is that the parties contesting an election have been building their manifestos in a careful dialogue with their members, as well as finding ways to persuade the electorate at large to have confidence in the manifesto.

There is a common assumption that the Apostolic churches, the “Vapostori”, represent a “captured” constituency for ZANU-PF when it comes to elections.2 This is undoubtedly a story with some truth to it, but rarely examined in any analytical fashion.
