One of the men highlighted that he wished he could get bus fare to travel to his rural area. It was revealed through the discussion that quite a number of people were shot during the scuffle with the police. Names were supplied and the ZHRC paid home visits to those who had been shot. At the homes of 3 of those who had been shot it was confirmed that they were admitted at Parirenyatwa Hospital. The heavy presence of the police and the military was evident until the last day that the ZHRC visited Epworth on Wednesday 23 January 2019. In this focus group discussion, the ZHRC talked to a woman who had been abducted from her house together with her daughter around 2am and later returned to their home. They were concerned that no one from the opposition was feeling safe from the police, army and from the community as well. They indicated to the Commission that the soldiers and police were using some community members who were vindictively fingering their enemies or members of the opposition parties as perpetrators of the disturbances of the 14th of January 2019. 5.2. Chitungwiza 5.2.1. In Chitungwiza there was evidence of a lot of barricades that had been set up by protestors who were demonstrating and forcing people not to go to their places of employment thereby interfering with the day to day activities of the community. There were many areas where there was evidence of burnt tyres in the middle of the roads and boulders and old cars by the road side that had been used as barricades. At Makoni Police Station, the ZHRC noted that from the gate, the guard rooms of the police station had been set on fire and the windows had been broken by stones.
